Chargers @ Titans - It's usually a great game when these two teams play, and I think this will be no exception. Chargers are looking to clinch the #2 seed, while the Titans are fighting to stay alive in the wildcard race. This is a difficult matchup for the Chargers because they have a weakness against the run, and the Titans have the explosive Chris Johnson. But the Titans are ranked 31st in pass defense, and that's not good...

Bill Belichick sent four of his players home for being late to a meeting on Wednesday morning. Adelius Thomas pointed out that it was the snow and ice that caused him and the others to be late. Just one problem with that logic. 49 guys made it on time. Gotta back the coach on this one.

Jets and Giants playoff hopes

I know PLAYOFFS?!! TALKING ABOUT THE PLAYOFFS!?! But both New York teams are just outside the playoff picture, so we could at least discuss chances

The Jets dug themselves into a bit of a hole, admittedly, but the playoffs are surprisingly still somewhat plausible.

The WC spots are claimed by the 8-4 Broncos and 7-5 Jags now, with the Jets tied with 6-6 Miami, Baltimore, and Pittsburgh. A big problem is tiebreakers...going through, (and assuming the number 5 spot is out of...

Yes, a snow storm is on the way...but the NFL lives on!!

Broncos (-5.5) @ Chiefs: Normally, I wouldn't highlight a Chiefs game. But ask the Steelers and Cowboys how easy a win is to come by at Arrowhead. The Broncos were extremely impressive last week. But Nut will no doubt concur about the dangers of playing in KC. I am picking the Broncos because they are the better overall team. But nothing that happens at this stadium ever shocks me.

Here are my early/Thanksgiving picks for the games this afternoon:

Packers at Lions - Packers win: The Lions may have won the Toilet Bowl last week, but the Packers are no Browns. Big win.
Raiders at Cowboys - Cowboys win: Could be close if the Cowboys offense fails to show up again, I'll put this one on upset watch.
Giants at Broncos - Giants win: The Giants could easily get caught in a sandwich game here as they are...

Dolphins (+3) @ Panthers: Carolina has definitely stepped it up. Dolphins are a decent team but I think teams are figuring out their Wildcat offense. I like the Panthers.

Colts (-1) @ Ravens; The Ravens defense is not what it once was. And the offense looked pretty damn bad against an inept Browns team last week for the first half. I personally think the spread is too low and Indy wins by at least 6. The only caveat is last weeks game was so intense and so emotional they...

Bears @ 49ers - I'm going with the 49ers. Obviously Cutler is much better than Alex Smith, but the Bears have been unprepared to play in 2 of the last 3 weeks. The defense and offensive line have been beyond terrible. I believe Singletary has his team more focused than Lovie Smith, especially considering the 49ers are looking to snap a 4 game losing streak. Dolphins (+10.5) @ Patriots: 'Phins coming off a sweep of division rivals the Jets go into New England where the Patriots seem to have found their groove. Still, at first glance I thought the Dolphins were getting severely disrespected with a double-digit spread. But upon further review, in the win over the Jets, special teams and defense accounted for 21 of 30 points. The offense managed 3 FGs. That isn't going to cut it on the road against a Tom Brady offense. Patriots win.

Texans (-3.5) @ Bills: Good match up between two eclectic teams. Bills have pulled off a couple of upsets and Houston is coming off a solid win against the 49ers. I think the Texans are the more talented team overall and I do like them to take this one but an upset woud not shock me.

Packers @ Browns - The Packers certainly have their problems, like leading the league in sacks allowed and tons of penalties. They'll have to clean those things up if they want to be a true contender. But they shouldn't have a problem scoring plenty of points in Cleveland, and the Browns have a pathetic offense. Packers win.

Chargers @ Chiefs - The talented Chargers vs the much less talented Chiefs. You'd think an easy Chargers win, but like every year under Norv Turner...

Texans at Bengals - Bengals win: The Bengals have swagger atop their division, too much swagger for the Texans to handle.
Lions at Packers - Packers win: If Aaron Rodgers can't get some protection when he drops back, this will be a lot closer.

Patriots @ Broncos - 3-1 Pats vs the surprising 4-0 Broncos. I never thought Denver's defense would be this improved with a bunch of no names on the defensive line, but Mike Nolan has done an incredible job. Probably the biggest talent on defense (besides Champ Bailey) is Elvis Dumervil, who is tied for the league lead in sacks with 8. And that's a big key to this game. As good as Denver's...
